Public to ‘Meet The Vindicator’ during Mahoning County forums

YOUNGSTOWN — The team that brings The Vindicator newspaper to thousands of readers daily is excited to meet the communities it serves with “Meet The Vindicator” — a forum for questions and comments about the newspaper.

Ten “Meet The Vindicator” events will offer readers in communities across Mahoning County the chance to meet the newspaper leadership, including members of the editorial team, the advertising department, the circulation department, and Vindicator and Tribune Chronicle publisher Charles Jarvis. Light refreshments will be available.

“We want to reach out to our readers in Mahoning County to let them feel connected to the newspaper,” Jarvis said. “We really do want to be a community newspaper that is responsive to the community and helpful to the community.”

Sue Shafer, Vindicator and Tribune Chronicle events coordinator, said readers will learn how to interact with the newspaper in person and online, and learn how to submit news.

“We just want to say hello and introduce our staff,” Shafer said.

The events will start at 6:30 p.m. and will take place on the following dates and locations: Jan. 27, Austintown Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road; Jan. 29, Public Library of Youngstown large meeting room, 305 Wick Ave.; Feb. 17, Boardman Library large meeting room, 7680 Glenwood Ave.; Feb. 18, Campbell Roosevelt Park Community Center, Sycamore Drive; Feb. 24, Struthers Mauthe Park, 156 Smithfield St.; March 2, Poland Library, 311 S. Main St.; March 4, Canfield Library, 43 W. Main St.; and March 9, Lowellville Village Offices, 140 E. Liberty Street. Columbiana’s “Meet The Vindicator” will start at 6 p.m. March 11 at the Columbiana Public Library Salchow Meeting Room, 332 N. Middle St.

An afternoon “Meet The Vindicator” also will be held at 2 p.m. March 24 at the Public Library in Youngstown to accommodate readers who missed their community’s event or are not available in the evening.

“We encourage the public to come be with us and meet the management of The Vindicator,” Jarvis said. “Feel free to bring questions, comments and concerns.”
