YOUNGSTOWN — Two downtown events scheduled for this weekend have been postponed because of expected poor weather conditions. The America 250 First Fridays, which was to take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday along North Phelps Street and West Federal Street, was postponed because of expected extreme heat. Boardman to seek new police/fire levy

BOARDMAN — Township trustees will request a new levy in November to support police and fire services. Officials say the township’s five-year forecast makes it clear that the cost to maintain services at their current level will become prohibitive. Mahoning County commissioners Tuesday approved a last-minute resolution that will double the owner-occupied tax credit. The change will go into effect this year and will be collected in 2027.
