Boy, 16, found with three leg gunshot wounds on South Side
YOUNGSTOWN — A boy, 16, suffered three gunshot wounds to his leg and was found at 2:11 a.m. today along the 1300 block of Humbolt Avenue on the South Side.
Police were called there for a shooting and found the boy on the sidewalk with a gunshot to his inner thigh. When officers what happened, the boy said, “I got shot,” but he did not provide any other information, according to a Youngstown police report.
A Shot Spotter notification also came into the police department at the same time for the 1300 block of Julian Street, which is a little more than a block away from the Humbolt address.
The boy was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, where he was in satisfactory condition with three gunshot wounds to the leg.
A detective found a bullet shell casing in the driveway of a home on Humbolt near the location of the boy. A passerby made the 911 call.
