Woman charged with felonious assault in May Youngstown bar stabbing

YOUNGSTOWN — The U.S. Marshal/s Service Violent Fugitives Task Force arrested Nicole M. Boyer, 42, Monday on a felonious assault warrant through Youngstown Municipal Court related to an early May 27 stabbing at the Down the Hatch bar, 3101 Mahoning Ave., on the West Side.

Boyer was in the Mahoning County jail Tuesday afternoon, but did not yet have an arraignment date in court records. If convicted, Boyer could get about 10 years in prison.

At the time of the stabbing, the victim, a city woman, 42, told Youngstown police at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital that “Niki” stabbed her and “All I did was grab her hair.”

The victim and her husband were highly intoxicated and did not tell police very much, according to a police report. The woman was stabbed in the shoulder, abdomen and hip, according to the report. She was in stable condition at the hospital.

Officers spoke to the victim’s husband, who said the stabbing followed “some sort of altercation.”
