Testimony begins in killings of three

YOUNGSTOWN — Prosecutors say aggravated murder defendant Taquashon Ray of Youngstown admitted to driving a car to 702 Pasadena Avenue Nov. 7, 2018, where a man, his child and the child’s mother were shot to death.

“He even admitted to being there when the shooting happened,” Assistant Prosecutor Aaron Meikle told jurors early today during open statements in the trial of Ray and Shainquon Sharpe, both 25.

Meikle also said text messages involving Ray would be provided during the trial indicating that Ray “knew someone had a hit out on Edward” Morris, 21. Jurors would also learn about a message that said “Job done,” Meikle said.

Testimony also began today. Judge Maureen Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court is presiding over the case.
