Man indicted on three counts of attempted murder

YOUNGSTOWN — Shawta T. Hasley, 25, Mahoning County jail, has been indicted on three counts of attempted murder with gun specifications and specifications of a drive-by shooting in a May 7 incident in which three females were shot.
Hasley also was indicted on three counts of felonious assault with gun specifications and specifications of a drive by shooting and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
A Mahoning County grand jury refused, however, to indict city woman Toni Davis, 20, in the case.
Three females — 17, 18 and 19 — were shot and were all taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for treatment. They were expected to survive.
Police found the 17-year-old at a home on Willis Avenue on the South Side. The two other females arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds. It was not clear where the two older females were shot.
A message written shortly after the shootings by the mother of the 17-year-old victim on the GoFundMe website stated that the girl was shot twice in the neck and spine and was on a breathing machine.
Hasley was arrested several days after the shootings during a traffic stop and charged with three counts of attempted murder.
