Mon. 11:06 a.m.: State agency approves tax credit for Macy’s expansion in N. Jackson

NORTH JACKSON — The Ohio Tax Credit Authority this morning approved a tax credit for a $30 million expansion for the Macy’s distribution center to add 417 jobs and create a fulfillment center.

Walter Good, Team NEO’s managing director, who spoke for the company, said Macy’s is looking at locations in West Virginia and Illinois, but the tax credit is “the major factor for the company moving forward in Ohio.”

The tax authority approved the 1.472 percent, eight-year tax credit.

The company wants to add 417 jobs with an annual payroll of $16,775,000 and retain 55 positions with a $2.1 million annual payroll there, Good said.
