Wed. 11:45 a.m.: Crews rupture natural gas line on Poland Avenue

YOUNGSTOWN – City firefighters responded to Poland Avenue at 10 a.m. for a ruptured natural gas line. No one was injured, a dispatcher with the Youngstown 911 center said.

Workers with Ohio Edison struck the natural gas line while working in the area, and workers from Dominion East Ohio Gas responded to the rupture to repair it, the dispatcher said.

The dispatcher could not specify further details, including the specific location. The fire department has left the location, she said.

Calls have been made to the fire department and Dominion seeking additional information.
