Wednesday update: COVID-19 cases in Ohio increases with 10 dead

COLUMBUS — There are 704 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, the Ohio Department of Health reported today in its 2 p.m. daily update.

That’s up from 564 cases Tuesday.

There are 10 dead as of today, up from eight on Tuesday.

Two of the dead are each in Cuyahoga, Franklin and Stark counties and one each in Erie, Gallia, Lucas and Miami counties.

In Mahoning County, there were 42 confirmed cases today, up from 28 on Tuesday.

In Trumbull County, there were nine cases today, up from four Tuesday.

In Columbiana County, there are four confirmed cases today. The state said there were three in that county Tuesday, but the county’s board of health said later that day there were four cases.

Statewide, 182 people have been hospitalized because of the virus as of today. The number was 145 Tuesday.
