Virus surge continues as state adds 5.5K cases
COVID-19 cases across the state jumped an additional 5,561 cases, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections to 1,253,198. In the past week, more than 40,000 cases were tallied. Since last week, the Ohio Department of Health reported 148 new deaths. The state is updating the number only after death certificates have been processed, usually Tuesdays and Fridays.
