Mahoning, state nursing homes, prisons see surge in virus cases this week

The number of COVID-19 cases rose at several Mahoning County nursing homes this week; at the same time, the number of cases rose dramatically among the general population in Ohio. The biggest surge among Mahoning County nursing homes was at the Canfield Acres LLC Windsor House at Canfield nursing home on state Route 446. CARSON CITY, Nev. — Hundreds of unvaccinated employees who work at public colleges and universities in Nevada were being fired today, a day after the state Board of Regents voted to keep a staff vaccine mandate in effect. Novavax files data with FDA to support vaccine

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Novavax Inc. said it filed data today with the Food and Drug Administration to support clearance of its long-anticipated COVID-19 vaccine, a different kind of shot than current U.S. options. With a record number of daily and monthly COVID-19 cases and the most people ever in Ohio hospitals with the virus, Gov.
