COMMUNITY NEWS: Pet blessings set Sunday at St. Columba

PET BLESSING: St. Columba Cathedral in downtown Youngstown will host its annual Blessing of the Pets in honor of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, who is the patron saint of pets, at 12:30 p.m. Sunday on the front steps of the church on West Wood Street. All dogs must be on leashes, and other pets, including cats, ferrets, reptiles and birds, must be in a cage. TRICK DOG EXPO: The 2025 Eastern Regional Tridex trick dog expo will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Collingwood Center, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. The event will include workshops on trick dog, stunt dog, canine conditioning fitness and animal actors. Special guest at the event is Kyra Sundance, world-acclaimed stunt dog coordinator and celebrity dog trainer, who will lead workshops on Saturday. Spectator admission is $25 for both days.
