Community Foundation awards $174,000 in scholarships to 95

The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley recently announced that 95 students from across the Mahoning Valley have been awarded scholarships totaling $173,924 to support their higher education goals this year. This year, 124 awards were made from 29 different scholarship funds held at CFMV, benefiting students from 17 local high schools and providing critical support as they pursue colleges and universities across the country. Health care options part of presentation

A very informative presentation about the health care options available to those lacking health insurance in the Mahoning Valley was offered by Paul Parteleno of the Midlothian Free Health Clinic. Paul, a certified rehabilitation counselor, was among a group of concerned professionals that included nurses from Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Youngstown and Christ Lutheran Church in Struthers who saw a rising need for health care access among the uninsured in our area. Rotary recognizes Canfield students

A recent Canfield Rotary luncheon saw the resumption of a popular club program that recognizes the accomplishments of students in the Canfield Local School District. Superintendent Joe Knoll also presented a program highlighting some of the accomplishments of the Canfield School District.
