Boardman grad named president of MWAN

BOARDMAN — Military Women Across the Nation (MWAN) announced that Jennifer Baun, a 1984 Boardman High School graduate, has been elected to serve as its next national president. Baun was installed during the 2026 MWAN National Convention Sept. 21 to 23 in Put-in-Bay. Baun is a veteran of the United States Navy who served during the Cold War as an Ocean System Technician Analyst Second Class Petty Officer. MOAA gives grant to AFR

VIENNA — The Military Officers Association of America-Mahoning and Shenango Valleys Chapter supported the U.S. Air Force Reserve’s 910th Airlift Family and Readiness (AFR) in early August and mid-September with an MOAA Foundation Community Outreach Grant of $2,500 and plenty of manpower. SANCTUARY OPEN FOR PROGRAMS: The Birds in Flight Wildlife Sanctuary will welcome families and outdoor enthusiasts to the Ultimate Outdoor Adventure from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the sanctuary in Canfield.
