COMMUNITY NEWS: Mount Carmel Fest nears
MOUNT CARMEL FESTIVAL: The 24th annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica Italian Festival will take place Thursday to Sunday along 343 Via Mount Carmel. The event will include food, Italian auction, Little Prince and Princess pageant, craft and retail vendors, games and entertainment. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday to Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. On Sunday at 11 a.m. will be a Mass and a procession featuring Man and Woman of the Year and awarding of scholarships.
CWC GARDEN EVENTS: The Columbiana Women’s Club will host Eric Barrett, OCES, as a guest of the club’s 2024 Garden Events at Idabelle Firestone’s Gathering Place and Garden. CLASS REUNION: Chaney High School Class of 1974 is celebrating its 50th class reunion Aug. 18 at El Cowboy Restaurant in the Wedgewood Plaza. Advanced tickets are required with a deadline of July 31. TIE-DYE DAY: McDonald summer recreation program will host a tie-dye day 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the park building.Children age 13 and under may bring one personal item to dye. All other materials will be provided.
GIRARD LIBRARY EVENTS: Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St., will host a reptile show with Komora Outdoors at 4 pm. Thursday with registration required. Other events this week are Create Your Own Welcome Mat at 6 p.m. today, and Discover Alaska’s Denali National Park at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Registration is needed for all programs.
