LEVY COMMITTEE TO MEET: The Liberty Schools Levy Committee will be holding informational meetings regarding the 2.5-mill additional five-year permanent improvement levy that will appear on the November general election ballot. In person meetings will be 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church Hill Park, with Zoom meetings 7 p.m. Aug. 24 and 26. Registration is required for the Zoom meeting at libertyschoollevy@zoominter net.net.

SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM: Austintown Local School District summer food service program for children will continue through Friday. Free meals are available for children ages 1 to 18 from 11 a.m. to nooon at Austintown Elementary School, 245 Idaho Road.

RELAY TO HOLD VIRTUAL EVENT: The American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Mahoning County will be held 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday virtually. Most of the event will be held on the Mahoning County Relay for Life’s Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/RFLMAHONINGCOUNTY) and YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBjC6sZuCzmWFFrdzQpgO9w). There will be a limited number of live, on-site events. The first activity is a survivor and caregiver parade followed by a drive-thru dinner sponsored by Outback Steakhouse of Boardman, A La Cart Catering of Canfield, Texas Roadhouse of Boardman, and Giant Eagle. Survivors and caregivers are encouraged to decorate their cars for the parade. Prizes will be given to the best-decorated vehicle. All survivors and caregivers who would like to participate will meet in the parking lot behind Canfield City Hall no later than 3:45 p.m.

MEMORIAL POKER RUN: The third annual Randall S. Pugh Memorial Poker Run will be held today following the Geneva on the Lake route. Registration begins in 9 a.m,. First group out at 10 a.m. and last bike out noon. Last bike in at 2 p.m. and drawing begins at 6 p.m. Chinese raffle and 50/50. Cost is $20 rider and $5 passenger. Start is at Lane LifeTrans Station 1, 5791 Mahoning Ave., Austintown and ends at Ice House Inn, 5516 West Webb Road, Austintown. CENSUS ASSISTANCE EVENT: Divine 9INE will hold a mobile assistance event 10 a.m. to noon and 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Youngstown Park and Recreation’s Wick Park, 260 Park Ave., Youngstown, to assist people with the U.S. Census. African American male wellness initiative participants are invited to attend. Voter registration will be available.

TICKET RAFFLE: St. Patrick Church in Hubbard is holding its annual festival raffle, which will have the drawing after the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass. Tickets are 20 for $20 available online at saintpatsfestival.com. Deadline to purchase online is 12:01 a.m., Sunday.

LIBRARY FRIENDS: The Friends of the Hubbard Public Library will be at the Hubbard Farmers Market 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday through October at Tylee Park with the library’s bookmobile.

STUFF THE BUS: The Salvation Army and Walmart are teaming up to provide new school supplies to local children in need as part of the “Stuff the Bus” campaign. The event is taking place at area Walmarts including Millenium Boulevard in Bazetta and 6001 Mahoning Ave. in Austintown. The event will be Friday to Sunday. All donations made to the Stuff the Bus will remain in the community to help provide back-to-school items for children.

DO IT YOURSELF: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will hold a Do it Yourself no sew face mask program 4 p.m. Saturday. Visit the library’s Facebook page or YouTube to learn how to make a face mask with just a cloth, bandanna and elastic rubber bands.
