Seeing Eye: Planning Veterans Day dinner in Hubbard

LEGION TO MEET: The Hubbard American Legion Post 51 will hold its monthly meeting 7 p.m. Thursday in the social hall of the First Presbyterian Church at 22 Westview Ave. There will be discussion on arrangements for a Veterans Day dinner Nov. 11.

Parking to access the social hall is at the lower level parking lot of the church. Refreshments will be provided at the end of the meeting.

BUTTON BOX MUSICIAN: Button box musician Ron Pivonar will host a polka party when performing a program 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kravitz Deli Meeting Room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty, for the William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society.

All programs are open to the public. Member admission is $5, and nonmember admission is $6. Refreshments will be served, and a raffle will benefit the society’s education mission. Instrumental music will be by Dolores DePietro.

Reservations are suggested. Walk-ins will be admitted based on seat availability. To make reservations or for more information, contact Richard S. Scarsella, WHMHS chairman, at 330-726-8277.

SUPPORT GROUP TO MEET: The Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter makes Alzheimer’s caregiver support groups available free of charge, open to all caregivers, family members and friends with a loved one affected by the disease or another form of dementia.

Meetings are 1:30 p.m. the fourth Thursday at Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., Canfield, and 2 p.m. the third Monday at Antonine Sisters Adult Day Center, 2675 North Lipkey Road, North Jackson.
