COMMUNITY NEWS: Dahlia show blooms this weekend in Boardman

DAHLIA SOCIETY: The Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society will host the 22nd annual show Saturday and Sunday at the Boardman Park Lariccia Family Community Center, 375 Boardman-Poland Road. The event will take place 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Dahlias of all colors and forms and artistic designer arrangements will be entered into the show. FAMILY FUN DAY: The 21st annual Family Fun Day and bookbag giveaway will take place 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Tod Park in Girard, rain or shine. The event is hosted by Cindy Michael’s Lena Mason Christian Memorial Foundation in memory of Mason and Christian who, along with their mother, Lena, died on Sept. 13, 2005.
