Arconic separation OK’d by its board of directors
Arconic Inc.’s board of directors have approved the company’s separation into two independent, publicly traded companies.
The separation announced Thursday will become effective April 1.
The engineered products and forgings business, which includes engine products, fastening systems, engineered structures and forged wheels, will remain in the existing company that will be renamed Howmet Aerospace Inc.
The global rolled products business, which includes global rolled products, aluminum extrusions and building and construction systems, will be held by the new company named Arconic Corporation.
Arconic has a plant in Weathersfield.
