One dead after early morning shooting in Warren

WARREN — One person is dead after an early morning shooting Sunday at a Convenient Food Mart at the corner of Elm Road and Larchmont Avenue, Warren police say.

Police were called at 5:22 a.m. to a report of a shooting in the 1400 block of Elm near Larchmont.

Reports indicate there were several gunshot victims at the scene.

Two males were transported to Mercy Health-St. Joseph Warren Hospital for medical treatment. Police confirmed one of the victims was pronounced dead.

As many as 40 shell casings were found in or near the store’s parking lot, which was taped off as police officers and detectives worked the scene. The investigation was ongoing as of Sunday afternoon.

This incident was one of three shootings over the weekend.

At 9:15 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 500 block of Phillips Drive SW for a gunshot victim.

Officers located the victim and provided aid. The female victim was transported to Mercy Health-St. Joseph Warren Hospital for further treatment.

At 2:40 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the 300 block of Scott Street NE in reference to a gunshot victim,
