Woman held in assault on police officer
AUSTINTOWN — A township woman was in the Mahoning County jail, accused of confronting police after a vehicle mishap.
A police report states Colleen Hurst, 52, of Austintown, was arrested after a report of a vehicle hitting a building at 20 North Wickliffe Circle. The report states Hurst started yelling at a responding officer, yelling “you pig” and struck the officer three times.
She was charged with assault on a police officer, a fourth-degree felony. After being processed at Austintown Police Department, she continued to be uncooperative and insulted officers, the report states.
She appeared before Judge Scott Hunter in Austintown County Court where a $4,000 bond was set. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Dec. 9.
