Trump orders review of Delphi salaried pensions
WARREN — President Donald Trump took executive action today to help a group of Delphi salaried retirees who lost a large chunk of their pensions when the auto parts manufacturer went bankrupt.
He ordered the U.S. secretaries of Labor, Commerce and Treasury to review whether the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation can restore the full pensions. Also helping will be Peter Navarro, assistant to Trump for Trade and Manufacturing Policy.
Trump’s order gives 90 days to report back on what action can be taken to address the lost benefits and bring additional transparency to the decision to terminate the plan.
