WARREN — A 23-year-old resident of 3071 Lodwick Drive was arrested in connection with the murder of Taryn T. Simmons, 361 Mathews Road, Youngstown, whose body was found outside of Apartment No. 1 in the River Run complex.

Edward J. Culler is in Trumbull County jail. He pleaded not guilty to a murder charge during a jail video arraignment held this afternoon before Municipal Judge Thomas Gysegem.

A hearing has been scheduled for 10:15 a.m. next Thursday before Gysegem. No bond was set.

Police were called to the apartment at 8:42 p.m. Thursday, according to a police report.

Officers found Simmons unresponsive.

The first officers began cardio pulmonary resuscitation, rotating positions until emergency medical service personnel arrived.

After several attempts to revive her, EMS workers pronounced her dead.

According to a 911 report, a witness stated a man and a woman were arguing outside of the the building and the women was shot.
