Christmas gets scary with Holiday Haunt

Staff report After years of Christmas merchandise and music creeping earlier and earlier into autumn, the fall revelers are fighting back. This weekend at Penguin City Brewing Company, 460 E. Federal St., Youngstown, will be the first Holiday Haunt with the brewery working in partnership with Nightmare in Niles, Dead Ink Apparel and Rebel Rescue Ranch. Stambaugh features Tuba carols, vendors

A brassy tradition brings holiday cheer to Stambaugh Auditorium on Sunday with TubaChristmas. This is the ninth year for TubaChristmas at Stambaugh and the 52st year for the tradition nationwide that was conceived in 1974 by Harvey Phillips as a tribute to his teacher and mentor, William J. Bell, who was born on Christmas Day. A trio of poets will present their work for Lit Youngstown’s next First Wednesday Reader Series event.
