Concert features Youngstown native as guest soloist

A Youngstown native who now is a music professor at the University of Maryland will perform Sunday with the W.D. Packard Concert Band. French horn player Gregory Miller earned his bachelor’s degree in horn performance from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music. His orchestral career began in 1991 as a fellow with the New World Symphony, led by Michael Tilson Thomas. ‘SpongeBob’ closes Straw Hat season

Straw Hat Theatre closes its summer season with “The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition” for a two-weekend run. Based on the popular Nickelodeon series by Stephen Hillenburg, the musical chronicles what happens when the citizens of Bikini Bottom learn that a volcano eruption could destroy their undersea world and SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends must come together to save it. St. Patrick Festival opens today in Hubbard The 67th Hubbard St. Patrick Church Festival opens today at 225 N. Main St., Hubbard. Packard museum revs up car show, new exhibits

Classic vehicles will surround the National Packard Museum on Saturday for its annual car show, and visitors who venture inside will see some new attractions as well.
