Simply Slavic grows for 15th year
Simply Slavic will expand to a three-day event for 2026.
The 15th edition of the festival celebrating Slavic culture and heritage is scheduled June 26 to 28 at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre.
According to Simply Slavic board President John Slanina, “For 15 years, Simply Slavic has celebrated the rich cultural traditions that shaped the Mahoning Valley. Expanding to three days, at least for this year, allows us to deepen that celebration while creating even more opportunities for families and visitors to experience our heritage.”
Friday and Saturday will continue to feature Slavic food and beverages, live folk dance troupes and traditional music, a marketplace, cultural exhibits and ceremonial traditions.
Sunday programming will introduce new elements, including a Catholic Mass honoring the faith traditions of the region’s Slavic communities, an ecumenical celebration welcoming diverse faith traditions of the Slavic people, a mascot day with expanded family-friendly activities and additional cultural performances, music and food experiences.
