What to know before heading to YLIVE

A big event such as YLIVE will bring thousands to downtown Youngstown each night, many for the first time.

Here’s some of the advice that JAC Live released to make entry into Wean Park go as smoothly as possible. No one wants to have to hoof it back to the car because they tried to enter the venue with something that isn’t allowed.

IMPORTANT TIMES: Parking lots open at 4 p.m. both days. Gates open at 6 p.m. Friday and music starts with The Clarks at 7:30 p.m., followed by Charles Kelley and headline John Mayer Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and music starts with Chase McDaniel at 7 p.m., followed by The Band Perry and headliner Tim McGraw.

TICKETS: General admission tickets for each show are $75, and a two-day general admission pass good for admission for both concerts is available for $124.75. Reserved seat tickets start at $95.50 for each show.

Tickets can be purchased at the Covelli Centre’s Southwoods Health box office and through Ticketmaster. VIP parking passes also can be purchased through Ticketmaster for $36 each day.

Those with mobile tickets should download them to their Apple wallet or android passbook before arrival. No screenshots will be accepted for admission.

WEAR YOUR WALKING SHOES: This year there will not be shuttle service between the concert site and the Youngstown State University’s Wick Avenue parking deck.

JAC Live COO Ken Bigley said there weren’t many concertgoers who utilized the service in recent years.

“There’s a good mix of public and paid parking throughout the city center,” Bigley said. “It’s really not that far, compared to how much walking you do (going to a concert or sporting event) in Cleveland or Pittsburgh.”

Those using rideshare apps should use the address of A&C Beverage, 45 South Ave., Youngstown, as their destination / pick up location.

BAG POLICY: Only clear and see-through bags no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches and clutches no larger than 8.5 inches by 5.5 inches by 1 inch will be allowed inside the park. Exceptions will be made for medical bags and diaper bags.

CHAIR POLICY: Those with general admission tickets are allowed to bring a folding lawn chair with a seat no higher than 16 inches off the ground with a back no higher than 36 inches off the ground. Chair bags / cases are not allowed and should be removed before arriving at the venue.

DON’T BRING: Briefcases, backpacks, binocular cases or any bag that doesn’t meet the bag requirement; wallet chains; professional cameras and recording devices (tablets, laptops, GoPros); food and beverage of any kind; weapons (including pocket knives); animals (with the exception of service animals); and other items as deemed inappropriate by the venue.

CARRY CASH: Those attending are encouraged to bring cash instead of using credit / debit cards in order to speed up transactions at the concession and merchandise stands.

Starting at $3.23/week.
