Cirque Italia sets up at mall

Cirque Italia brings its big tent to the Southern Park Mall parking lot for six performances this weekend.

The production tells the story of a 1950s-obsessed adolescent who falls asleep and dreams of living in this bygone era, and it incorporates such circus acts as jugglers, low-wire artists, contortionists, trampoline performers and a wheel of death.

Cirque Italia believes multiculturalism is one of its strongest assets, and the show features performers from Argentina, Brazil, Romania and other countries.

The show is performed on a stage that holds 35,000 gallons of water, and the Water Circus coming to Boardman is one of three units currently touring.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the blue and white tent in the mall parking lot, 7401 Market St., Boardman.

Tickets range from $10 to $50 and can be purchased in advance at www.cirqueitalia.com or at the tent before each performance.

Starting at $3.23/week.
