Lit Youngstown brings poets to Westside Bowl

Poets Marion Boyer and Steve Henn will be featured at Lit Youngstown’s next First Wednesday Reader Series event.

Boyer, who lives in Twinsburg, has published six collections of poetry. Her collection “Ice Hours” won The Wheelbarrow Prize in 2023 and Poets & Writers named it “New and Noteworthy.” “What Word for This” won Grayson Books chapbook prize in 2023.

Boyer has participated in Lit Youngstown events and teaches for Lit Cleveland.

Henn, who lives in Warsaw, Indiana, is the author of “American Male,” “Guilty Prayer” and “Indiana Noble Sad Man of the Year.” He teaches high school English at a public school in northern Indiana.

The program starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, in its Trophy Room, which is accessible only by stairs. Meagan Albania will provide ASL interpretation, funded by the Raymond J. Wean Foundation.
