Comedy ‘The Nerd’ opens in Ashtabula
The comedy “The Nerd” opens Friday at Ashtabula Arts Center for a two-weekend run.
Larry Shue’s play is the story of a young architect who receives a surprise visit from a fellow GI who saved his life when they were serving in Vietnam. The two never met then, but his savior turns out to be an annoyance now, overstaying his welcome and causing havoc.
Stephen Rhodes directs a cast that includes Tim Gross, Brandon Sweeney, Jacob McKee and Elizabeth Ginn.
The play includes adult language.
The 13th Street Theatre production will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday through April 13 at AAC, 2928 W. 13th St., Ashtabula.
Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for students, senior citizens and military and $13 for children ages 2 to 12 if purchased in advance at ashtabulaartscenter.org or by calling 440-964-3396. Tickets purchased at the door are $19, $17 and $15.
