Lit Youngstown will feature Buckeye poets
Lit Youngstown’s First Wednesday Reader Series moves to the second Wednesday in July due to the July 4 holiday.
This month’s event features a trio of Ohio poets.
Angel James, who lives in Mentor, is the author of “Becoming Friends with Chaos,” a collection of works inspired by the life and music of Bob Dylan.
Stephanie Kendrick, who lives in Albany, has been published in “Women of Appalachia Project (WOAP) Women Speak: 10th Anniversary Collection,” “Not Far From Me: Stories of Opioids and Ohio,” Essentially Athens and Ghost City Review.
Mark Lee Webb of Louisville is a poet, photographer and musician. He is the author of “It’s Not Easy Being a Moth” and several poetry chapbooks. His work has appeared in literary journals such as Ninth Letter, Reed, Columbia Journal and Aeolian Harp.
Webb also is a jazz drummer, and his photography has been selected in several juried exhibitions, such as WideOpen 2020.
The reading starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Trophy Room at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, and it will be followed by an open mic. Admission is free.
