Homestead society to hold annual meeting

Mary Kozub, director of education at New York’s Burchfield Penney Arts Center, will be the featured speaker at the Burchfield Homestead Society’s annual meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Kozub will provide a behind-the-scenes-look at the educational programming of the art center in Buffalo, New York, which has the largest public collection of artworks created by Charles E. Burchfield. Its archives include more than 10,000 pages of handwritten journals, 25,000 drawings, and a scale re-creation of the artist’s studio that had been in Gardenville, New York.

The public is welcome to join new and current society members for the presentation at the office of Fred Naragon, 248 E. State St., Salem. Individual Burchfield Homestead Society memberships are $10 and; family memberships are $35.
