War to perform at Robins Theatre in May

The soul / funk act War is coming to the Robins Theatre on May 16.

The band is known for such hits as “Spill the Wine,” “The World Is a Ghetto,” “The Cisco Kid,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and “Low Rider” and often is included on lists of worthy acts overlooked by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. War co-founder Leroy “Lonnie” Jordan, keyboard and lead vocals, is the lone original member.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $40 to $70 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
