Cirque brings ‘OVO’ to Covelli Centre
YOUNGSTOWN — Cirque du Soleil returns to the Covelli Centre with four performances of “OVO” in June.
“OVO” is described as a colorful intrusion into a new day in the life of insects, a nonstop riot of energy and movement. Through acrobatics highlighting the unique personalities and abilities of selected insect species, “OVO” explores the beauty of biodiversity in all its contrasts and vibrancy.
“OVO” debuted in 2009. For the current tour, which relaunched in 2022, three new acts and new characters have been added. “OVO” was Cirque’s 25th production and was created to celebrate the troupe’s 25th anniversary.
Cirque du Soleil has made several appearances at the Youngstown arena, making its last appearance in 2018 with “Crystal,” its first show on ice.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. June 7, 3 and 7 p.m. June 8 and 1 p.m. June 9. Tickets range from $42 to $127 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 11 at the Southwoods Health box office and through Ticketmaster.
