Arms museum makes Christmas memories

The 15th Memories of Christmas Past exhibit opens Saturday at the Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s Arms Family Museum.

This year’s display features seven rooms and three floors of vintage holiday cheer and decor. Along with the displays, visitors can explore Santa’s Village, also known as the Hands on History Room, with many hands-on activities for all ages. The Arms museum, 648 Wick Ave., Youngstown, also will have two gift shops filled with vintage and modern items for sale.

The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 31. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Thursdays through Dec. 28.

Admission during the run of Memories of Christmas Past is $10 for adults, $9 for senior citizens and college students with ID, $8 for children ages 3 to 18 and free for children 2 and younger, active military / veterans and MVHS members. The admission fee also allows patrons same-day free admission to MVHS’s Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St. Youngstown.

Between Saturday and Nov. 26, visitors can get buy-one-get-one-free admission with a canned food donation for Project Feed Our Family.
