Auditions are scheduled July 16 and 17 for Youngstown Playhouse’s production of the horror thriller “Misery.”

Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel, It tells the story of a romance novelist who initially is rescued by his “No. 1 fan” following a car accident and then held captive by her when she doesn’t like the ending of his latest work.

Cast requirements are a male identifying performer in their 40s or 50s for the author and a female identifying performer in their 30s to 50s for the fan. Christopher Fidram will direct.
