Ukraine is focus of MVHS culture, cuisine program

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society is resuming its Culture and Cuisine series that celebrates the rich diversity of cultures within the Mahoning Valley.

Ukraine: Culture and Cuisine will be held 3 p.m. April 2 at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cultural Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. An ethnic meal and dessert will be served, and the speakers will include the Rev. Mykola Zomchak, pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and the Rev. Lubomir Zyhbak, pastor of St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church. Ukrainian music will be provided by Anna Prychodczenko, choir director at SS. Peter and Paul.

The cost to attend is $30 for MVHS members, and $35 for nonmembers. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Ukrainian Relief Fund. Reservations are required by Friday and can be made by calling 330-743-1589.
