Warren Civic Music brings Wright stuff for holidays

Singer Laura Wright will perform holiday songs and music from her Las Vegas act for her Warren Civic Music Association concert.

At the age of 16, Wright was a semi-finalist on season five of “American Idol.” After graduating from Valdosta State University with a degree in theater, Wright has worked extensively in musical theater and as a singer.

She has performed with Barry Manilow and Journey lead vocalist Arnel Pineda. In Las Vegas, she’s worked with Terry Bradshaw and Postmodern Jukebox, and she currently is part of the cast for the musical “Bat Out of Hell” featuring the music of Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman.

Her regional theater credits include the world premiere of the musical “Bull Durham” as well as “Grease,” “Hairspray,” “9 to 5” and “Sophisticated Ladies.” She also has performed her headlining show for several major cruise lines.

Wright’s WCMA concert starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. Tickets are $40 and are available at the Packard box office and through Ticketmaster.
