Lottery could get you in the room where it happens for ‘Hamilton’

Theatergoers can pay up to $250 to see “Hamilton” when it starts a six-week run Dec. 6 in Cleveland or they can gamble and hope to get into the theater for a Hamilton.

Forty $10 tickets for each of the 48 performances during its run through Jan. 15, 2023, at Playhouse Square’s KeyBank State Theatre will be distributed through a lottery system.

The lottery can be entered online at hamiltonmusical.com/lottery/ or by downloading the official app for “Hamilton” in the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and at hamiltonmusical.com/app.

Folks can enter the lottery for seats for the first week of shows (Dec. 6 to 11) from 10 a.m. today until noon Thursday, Dec. 1. Entrants will find out whether they won or lost between 1 and 4 p.m. each Thursday. Winners will have two hours to purchase and pay for up to two tickets.

There’s only one entry allowed per person and entrants must be at least 18 years old. Winners can be pick up tickets at the box office two hours before the scheduled performance. Lottery tickets can not be resold and a valid photo ID matching the winner’s name will be required for entry with the tickets.
