Youngstown amp adds 3 shows

Two rock shows and a Legends of Hip Hop concert have been added to the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre schedule.

Train, led by Erie, Pa., native Pat Monahan, will perform Aug. 25. The band is best known for such hits as “Meet Virginia,” “Drops of Jupiter,” “Hey Soul Sister” and “Drive By.” The band has won three Grammy Awards and two Billboard Music Awards and sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $42.50 to $99.50.

All-Star Legends of Hip Hop brings together Juvenile, Mystikal, Scarface, Twista and Trina on Sept. 18.

Juvenile is best known for his chart-topping 2004 single “Slow Motion.” The five albums Mystikal released between 1995 and 2001 all had Gold or Platinum sales.

Scarface started as a member of Geto Boys, best known for such hits as “Mind Playing Tricks on Me” and “Six Feet Deep.” As a solo artist, his hits include “I Seen a Man Die” and “Smile.”

Twista’s “Slow Jamz” (with Jamie Foxx and Kanye West) topped the Billboard Hot 100, R&B singles and rap singles charts. Trina’s hits include “Here We Go” and “Single Again.”

Tickets for the 7 p.m. show range from $58 to $102.

Foreigner will be accompanied by a rock orchestra for its Oct. 12 concert.

Led by founding member (and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee) Mick Jones, Foreigner has had 16 Top 30 hits in its career, including “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Feels Like the First Time,” “Urgent” and “I Want to Know What Love Is.” The band has sold more than 80 million albums.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show range from $37.50 to $125.

Tickets for Train and Foreigner shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Covelli Centre’s Southwoods Health box office and through Ticketmaster. Tickets for the hip hop show go on sale at noon Friday through the same outlets.

Online-only presales run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday for Train and Foreigner and noon to 10 p.m. Thursday for Legends of Hip Hop. The password for Train tickets is SUMMER, the password for Foreigner is JUKEBOX, and the password for hip hop is LEGENDS.
