Stage Left offers theater summer camp for kids

LISBON — Stage Left Youth Players’ “Kidz on Broadway” summer camp returns in July.

The camp, now in its 20th year, is designed for children who have just completed grades K-8 who love music, dancing and acting. Camp participants will develop performance and design skills through a musical theater repertoire that includes songs from such shows as “Hairspray,” “Footloose,” “Les Miserables,” “Godspell” and “Little Shop of Horrors.” Special guest artist Jonny Yurco will teach stage combat, and Christine Martin will teach musical theater dance basics. The camp will culminate in a Broadway revue at 7 p.m. July 30 and 31 at United Local High School.

A meet and greet is planned Saturday morning for campers and newcomers. For more information, go to StageLeftPlayers.org/kidz-on-broadway or email StageLeftSeats@gmail.com.
