Trio to hold online concert

The Dana Piano Trio will play an online concert debuting Saturday.

The trio’s members — violinist Wendy Case, cellist Kivie Cahn-Lipman and pianist Cicilia Yudha — all are Dana School of Music faculty members and have active performing careers as soloists and chamber musicians.

Case is the founding violinist of the Brahms’ Ghost Piano Trio and has collaborated with prestigious musicians such as David Finckel, Amir Eldan, Kirsten Docter and Soovin Kim and performed in ensembles including the Blossom Festival (Cleveland Orchestra) and the Atlanta Symphony.

She studied at the University of Michigan, the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Stony Brook University. Her current projects include several recording endeavors and a series of presentations on the interplay of advanced string technique and acoustical physics.

Cahn-Lipman is the founding cellist of the International Contemporary Ensemble as well as founder of the baroque string band ACRONYM. He holds holds degrees from Oberlin and Juilliard, and he received his doctorate from the University of Cincinnati.

He appears on more than 40 recordings.

Yudha has given performances, presentations and master classes in the US, Europe and Southeast Asia. She is a frequent soloist with the Duke University Symphony Orchestra, and Navona Records released her debut CD, “Selected Piano Works by Robert Casadesus and Henri Dutilleux,” in 2016.

She holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music, New England Conservatory, and the University of North Carolina Greensboro.

The Trio will perform Franz Schubert’s Trio in Eb Major (D929) and Adam Schoenberg’s “Luna y mar” and will be available at 7 p.m. Saturday on the Cliffe College and McDonough Museum of Art YouTube channels.

The concert is part of the McDonough’s Muse Series featuring innovative expressions of contemporary culture and recitals of groundbreaking new music and dynamic collaborations.
