Civil War is subject of historical society lecture
A look at the events leading up to the Civil War will be the topic of the next Bites and Bits of History online video presentation by the Mahoning Valley Historical Society.
“April 1861, 160 Years Later” will feature Traci Manning, who oversees educational programming for MVHS, looking at such events as the firing on Fort Sumter and the secession of Virginia. The month of April 1861 marked the boiling point in decades of tension, violence, and disagreement over the singular issue of slavery.
The program will be available starting at noon April 22 on MVHS’s YouTube channel.
