Westminster College to present virtual St. Patrick’s Day program

Westminster College’s Celebrity Series will present a special St. Patrick’s Day virtual concert with Irish singer Michael Londra.

“Ireland with Michael” was recorded in front of a live audience at the National Opera House in Wexford, Ireland, and features Londra, the Irish Concert Orchestra, two choirs and singers and musicians from all over Ireland.

In a celebration of Irish culture, heritage and music for Saint Patrick’s season, the virtual show also travels outward to the Irish countryside and villages to meet local traditional singers, dancers and musicians. Londra heads to Dublin and Belfast for performances. He also travels to the Kennedy Homestead–the family farm of the Kennedy family–to discuss President John F. Kennedy’s legacy in Ireland and sings of his connection to the family.

Londra is host of “Ireland with Michael,” which will air on PBS stations this spring, and the author of a travel book of the same name.

The virtual program will be available at 7 p.m. March 17. Tickets to watch the concert online are $25. A $35 ticket also includes a souvenir DVD that will be mailed to the purchaser’s home, and a $50 ticket include the concert, DVD and a private meet-and-greet Zoom call with Londra.

Tickets are available online at www.westminster.edu/celebrity.
