Jazz alumni program features Lalama
YOUNGSTOWN — Jazz pianist and professor Dave Lalama will be featured in a Jazz Alumni Spotlight program presented online as part of the Youngstown State University Alumni Lecture Series.
Lalama, a 1976 Dana School of Music graduate, is professor of music at Hofstra University and is a founding faculty member of the Manhattan School of Music jazz program. He received his doctorate in music composition from New York University and is active as a clinician, arranger and performer throughout the United States.
He will share career highlights and the importance of his YSU experience in a video that will debut at 7 p.m. today on the YSU Alumni Engagement Facebook page.
