McGuffey series features Mill Creek park director

Justin Rogers, Mill Creek MetroParks’ planning and operations director, will be the next speaker in the William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society lecture series.

Rogers is responsible for planning, design, budgeting and implementation of capital improvement projects. He oversees contract management, agency coordination, master planning, historic infrastructure preservation, recreational facility development, environmental analysis, land preservation, ecological restoration and stewardship efforts.

An alumnus of Cardinal Mooney High School, Rogers graduated from The Ohio State University, Knowlton School of Architecture, with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture.

As a licensed landscape architect, Rogers is active throughout the Mahoning Valley, serving in leadership positions for various community organizations, including the Walnut Grove — Field of Opportunity, Great Ohio Lake-to-River Greenway Coalition and Alliance for Watershed Action and Resource Education (AWARE).

The program starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kravitz’s Deli Meeting Room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty. Admission is $5 for members and $6 for nonmembers. Reservations are recommended and be made by calling 330-726-8277.
