MVHS offers cemetery tour

A virtual tour of Oak Hill Cemetery will be the subject of the next online edition of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s Bites and Bits of History series.

Frank Rulli, an MVHS board member and local architect, and Traci Manning, MVHS curator of education, will be co-presenters of the video presentation, which highlights the architectural and cultural history of the cemetery.

With a focus on the landscape and design of the cemetery, along with stories of a few of its famous inhabitants, the program will build on MVHS walking tours from previous years.

The program normally would have been the society’s History to Go walking tour for 2020. With continued precautions for public health, MVHS adapted the walking tour into a virtual event.

The public will be able to view the program at noon Oct. 22 on MVHS’s YouTube channel. Additional information on past Bites and Bits of History programs can be found online at mahoninghistory.org/bites-bits-of-history/. Bites and Bits of History lunchtime programs are presented by the John and Loretta Hynes Foundation.
