Lit Youngstown offers free camp

Registration is underway for Lit Youngstown’s third Winter Writing Camp on Feb. 8 at St. John’s Episcopal Church and the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County.

The workshop offers sessions for adults and children of all ages. Adult sessions include using descriptive language, writing a children’s book, being inspired by Maya Angelou, how to open a story or novel, using the senses in writing and writing haiku. The afternoon will end with an interactive storytelling performance by Jocelyn and Robert Dabney.

The writing camp is free with free childcare available for children ages 4 and younger. Participating children ages 11 and younger must have an adult present, and those in kindergarten and first grade are required to have an adult with them throughout the day.

Seating is limited. To register, go to Lit

Youngstown.org. For more information, email info @LitYoungstown.org.
