Nampons offer a good solution for a nosebleed

Q. I have had nosebleeds all my life. Some are minor, but some have been so severe that I have been taken to the emergency room. My veins have been cauterized several times. My pockets are always stuffed with tissues. A few years ago, my ENT suggested using Afrin-soaked cotton balls in my nose to stop a bleed. This treatment was quite successful. Greg Hawkes to play music of The Cars

Greg Hawkes will play the music of The Cars on Oct. 10 at the Robins Theatre. DEAR DR. ROACH: I am an active senior and have started to feel symptoms of restless legs syndrome (RLS). I’m wondering how and why this started. In the evenings, I use an athletic foam roller, drink water and take magnesium supplements. I’d like to hear how to remedy this so that I can get some much-needed sleep. —J.L.
