THE GATHERING PLACE: The Gathering Place Senior Center’s next event will be 11 a.m. Dec. 8 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 North Broad St., Canfield.
Enjoy “Holiday Music & Caroling” presented by Canfield schools’ musical programs.
Bring your favorite holiday cookies or potluck side dish to share. The main course, chicken francaise, will be provided.
This is a free community outreach social program offered to all senior citizens that is held on the second Monday of each month. Reservations are not required.

PERI TO MEET: The Public Employee Retirees of Mahoning County Chapter 18 will hold a holiday lunch meeting at noon Tuesday at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 Western Reserve Road. Cost is $19.
For reservations contact Diane at 330-547-9612, Janice at 330-270-8611 or Carol at 330-758-5239. Advise the person taking your reservation if you have dietary restrictions.
The chapter will be collecting for Children’s Services of Mahoning County to help make their Christmas a little brighter.
Holiday entertainment will be provided by The Boardman High School Choir, under the direction of Choir Director Marissa Stebner.

• Matter of Balance Class: 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through Dec. 9.
• Monthly Birthday Celebration: 9 a.m. Wednesday in the coffee bar. Each month we celebrate everyone’s birthday.
• Chair massage with Ruth: 10 a.m. Dec. 5. Come let Ruth work out those aches and pains. Must sign up. If there are two dates scheduled for the month, please choose only one to give everyone a chance to sign up.
TRUMBULL RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION: The association will celebrate its 60th anniversary at the Dec. 9 meeting. The TRTA came into existence when a group of retired Trumbull County teachers adopted its first constitution and bylaws in 1965. It was an affiliate of the newly formed Ohio Retired Teachers Association, now known as Ohio Retirement for Teachers.
The program will feature Hay Secrest, a musician and singer from Canton. The luncheon will be held at noon at Ciminero’s Banquet Center. The cost is $17 and must be paid in advance. Reservations are needed by Monday. Make checks payable to TRTA and mail to Linda Cowin, P.O. Box 152, Leavittsburg, OH 44430.

MRTA TO MEET: Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Drake’s Landing, Western Reserve Road. Lunch will be served.
The featured speaker will be Dr. Jeanine Mincher who will share information on “Food as Medicine.”
Community service donations will be accepted for the Canfield VFW Auxiliary. Reservation information can be found on the MRTA website.
